Human Resources Assistant, Full-time or Part-time, typically M-F 8:00-5:00. Temporary for approximately 6 months. May occasionally need to work evening and weekend hours. Hourly, Non-Exempt, Non-Union.
Position SummaryServes as a specialized assistant and administrative support in the Human Resources Department. This may include hiring, benefits, day-to-day processes and projects. Provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and the HR Department. Participates in drafting policies and procedures related to personnel, the work environment, or facility requirements. Works as a team player with all departments, staff, and future employees, with positive representation of the HR Department.
RequirementsEducation
High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience1-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Assistant or Administrative Assistant role required.
Job Knowledge- Solid understanding/experience with human resources and payroll processes, benefit & compensation administration, recruitment & onboarding processes, handling employee relations issues, organizational planning & development, FMLA/leave administration, employment law compliance (FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA etc.), performance management, employee development, corrective action, employee investigations, regulatory reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, stress etc.).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- High level of interpersonal skills and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn to use the organizations Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and talent management systems.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Successful completion of 500‑hour probationary period. Criminal background check and pre‑employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer. Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
