Human Resource Analyst 3 – Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) & Workplace Accommodation Partner Oregon Department of Transportation Support Services Division – Human Resources Branch Employee and Labor Relations Section Salem

A day in the life:

  • Serve as the agency subject matter expert and primary resource for complex ADA reasonable accommodation matters, providing guidance to employees, managers, HR business partners and management.
  • Lead and manage the interactive process for complex ADA accommodation requests, including evaluating eligibility, reviewing documentation, identifying appropriate accommodations and approving or denying requests in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Ensure consistent, equitable, timely and legally compliant administration of ADA accommodations across the agency through case oversight, consultation, documentation and follow-up.
  • Interpret and apply federal and state disability laws, rules, policies and procedures to resolve accommodation issues, address compliance concerns and support equal access for employees with disabilities.
  • Investigate allegations of ADA noncompliance and workplace violations and provide consultation and support on related grievances, claims, hearings, investigations and litigation.
  • Develop and maintain agency ADA standards, policies, procedures, resources, tools, training and educational materials to promote compliance and consistent accommodation practices.
  • Develop and maintain systems, records and reporting mechanisms for ADA accommodations and related data to support accurate tracking, record retention, trend analysis and informed agency decision-making.
  • Serve as a senior HR consultant and technical resource to HR teams and management on complex ADA, accommodation, return-to-work, employee relations and related workforce matters.
  • Partner with employees, medical providers, managers, HR business partners, safety, labor relations and other partners to identify effective accommodations and facilitate successful return-to-work and continued employment.
  • Monitor emerging ADA requirements, trends and best practices and translate them into agency recommendations, training, process improvements and strategic HR initiatives.
  • Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available and some travel required.

  • The salary range listed is the non-PERS monthly salary range. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.

Minimum qualifications:

Six years human resource experience related to the position. Four of the six years must have been at the professional level.
