As our Senior Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and accountability for all TIC operations. Your responsibilities include managing complex transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and leading our annual financial review, directly supporting the agency’s success.
This high-impact position requires advanced accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You’ll collaborate with internal staff, agency leadership, and external partners to uphold financial integrity and support key projects.
Duties include:Qualifications include:
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate AND two years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1 work, including setting up ledgers, account codes, controls, and modifying accounting systems;
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or in any discipline with 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND two years of similar accounting experience;
- OR 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND four years of related accounting experience, including classifying, analyzing, reconciling financial data, designing accounting methods, preparing financial statements, and interpreting laws and regulations.
Note:
15 quarter (10 semester) graduate-level accounting credit hours may substitute for one year of experience. Graduate courses used for education cannot be counted toward experience.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards
- Knowledge of governmental accounting, including various basis of accounting and restricted funds
- Skill in analyzing accounting information to prevent, detect, and correct errors
- Experience preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts
- A commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Familiarity with SAP B1 accounting software
- Public accounting experience providing assurance services to governmental entities
