Position Overview
Instructor Pool - Human Services. This is an application pool posting for the academic year. The assigned location is Lane Community College’s main campus in Eugene, Oregon. Lane Community College seeks to expand its pool of part-time faculty to teach Human Services courses.
Responsibilities- Teach a variety of Human Services courses as assigned; create and revise course content, syllabi, and materials; establish learning outcomes aligned with core ability outcomes; assess outcomes and use results to inform improvements.
- Provide high-quality classroom instruction in traditional and online formats; deliver curriculum to students; confer with students on course materials; develop course materials suitable for direct use by students.
- Support student learning through activities; maintain office hours; participate in faculty performance evaluation; ensure compliance with college policies and procedures; manage student records, attendance, and grades; maintain a safe classroom or lab environment.
- Engage in online teaching with Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI); monitor progress, provide coaching, timely feedback, and responsive communication; ensure materials meet accessibility guidelines (Section 508).
- Demonstrate Lane’s core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion; promote an inclusive learning environment; support ADA access and cultural competency; mentor and model inclusive practices.
- Participate in division and professional activities; adhere to division and college procedures supporting teaching and learning.
- Master’s degree in Human Services or a closely related field (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology) from a regionally accredited institution. All graduate degrees and credits must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Preferred qualifications include graduate coursework or training in diversity, equity, and inclusion; group counseling; addiction studies; and current behavioral health certification or license.
- Preferred experience in teaching, training, or clinical settings; experience teaching online; ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Ability to teach across lower-division Human Service curriculum; ability to work with students with various learning styles and disabilities.
- Criminal background check required; information evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Must work and reside in Oregon while performing duties.
- Official transcripts required if selected; unofficial transcripts are required at time of application.
- Salary/Wage:
Hourly. - Part-time faculty benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick leave; full contracted benefits may be available after meeting certain criteria.
