Job Summary

The Sales Application Engineer for Industrial and Environmental (I&E) role at Veolia WTS’s Sievers Analytical Instruments (AI) focuses on supporting internal and external sales teams in commercial processes and driving an excellent customer experience through advanced technical support. Veolia and AI have global presence with facilities in many countries including Hungary and Singapore, and its products are sold and serviced directly and indirectly by independent sales/service providers.

This remote‑based travel position (roughly 50%) reports directly to the I&E Sales Manager and will have a matrix manager for duties related to service support.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Contribute to instrument sales cycle and support team members during sales meetings.
  • Support instrument demo, trial processes, and application approval from data collection to approval form.
  • Actively contribute to new applications development process with internal teams and customers.
  • Provide value proposition and technical training to internal and external sales team members.
  • Develop advanced troubleshooting and application knowledge training content.
  • Create and maintain manuals, training materials, videos, and documentation.
  • Engage with teams to anticipate needs and knowledge gaps.
  • Travel internally with industrial and environmental personnel as required.
  • Lead advanced technical or customer service cases and support new product launches through NPI process.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • General lab safety and manufacturing site safety practices.
  • Analytical chemistry concepts and practical instrumentation knowledge.
  • Process control, water systems, and instrumentation understanding.
  • Project leadership and cross‑functional communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and training delivery across diverse audiences.
  • Computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets, cloud‑based customer records management.
  • Adaptability to meet training needs of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Time management and priority shift to address quality issues and customer concerns.
  • Comfort with hand tools, diagnostic devices, multimeters, and temperature verification devices.
  • Ability to disassemble, reassemble instruments and document the process.
  • 50% travel required.
Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related science discipline.
  • 2‑5 years in a laboratory, chemical processing, or manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of experience with analytical instrumentation usage and maintenance.
Preferred
  • 4 years working directly with customers/end users in a customer‑facing role.
  • Experience with the sales cycle and supporting sales teams.
