CNC Programmer - Oregon, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

* Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G‑code and CAM software (e.g., Cam Works, Mastercam, Fusion 360, Gibbs

CAM).

* Must be able to program CNC 3-axis and 5-axis mills using Cam software.

* Reading complex prints, designs, able to transfer in and out of CNC machines

* Work from drawings, sketches, specifications and verbal instructions to make parts.

* Must be able to navigate Solidworks well, while being able to design and edit models using Solidworks.

* Must be able to read G & M code.

* Must also be able to program and operate one or more of the following Specialty machines: CNC Grinder, High Speed Mills or Wire EDMs'.

* Must be capable and willing to train other machinists, showing them the proper way to use common shop Machine tools and inspection equipment

* Work to close tolerances

* Able to inspect own machined components using precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work

* Setup machines for operation by others

* Keep work area and equipment clean

* Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment

* Able to work independently on projects with little assistance.

* And other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

* High School Diploma, or equivalent

* 3-5 years' experience in a machine shop

* Knowledge of precision measuring devices

* The ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches

* Must have at least 3 years CNC mill programming experience

* CAMWorks and Solid Works proficient

* A proven mechanical aptitude

* Advanced shop mathematics skills

* Broad knowledge of machine shop practices

* Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve

* Strong work ethic and follow through

* Work is subject to process and final inspection

* Must consistently use safety devices when operating machines

* Attention to detail a must

* Must have a good attendance record

* Must be able to work well with others in the shop
