Description

As an Amazon Data Center Technician, you serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members, possess basic to intermediate system administration skills, and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support, follow direction when given, pay attention to detail, collaborate effectively with a team, and adjust performance and behavior as required.

• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware infrastructure problems.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and best practices.
• Follow vendor and internal SOPs for equipment maintenance.
• Document troubleshooting steps and outcomes in the ticketing system.
• Maintain a safe and organized data center environment.

• Hardware troubleshooting
• Rack and stack assembly
• Cabling and cable management

• Hardware Expertise
  :
  Strong knowledge of server architecture, component-level repair, diagnostics tools, and OEM hardware.
• Networking Fundamentals
  :
  Understanding of TCP/IP, cabling standards, patching, link testing, and basic switch configuration.
• Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
  :
  Ability to evaluate technical symptoms, isolate faults, and drive issues to resolution.
• Operational Excellence
  :
  Familiarity with ITIL practices, ticketing systems, SOP adherence, and change management.
• Physical Infrastructure Knowledge
  :
  Experience with racks, PDUs, UPS systems, cable management, airflow, and cooling principles.
• Security & Compliance
  :
  Awareness of data center security protocols, access control, and audit requirements.
• Soft Skills
  :
  Clear communication, teamwork, ability to work under pressure, strong time management, and attention to detail.
• Tools Proficiency
  :
  Use of KVMs, crash carts, cable testers, power measurement tools, and diagnostic utilities.

Entry Level

Contract position based out of Boardman, OR. Fully onsite.

Pay range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour.
