Description
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. This role requires working independently in a dynamic environment to support the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks and to help develop automation solutions that scale the network.
ResponsibilitiesThe position includes:
- Scaling support for several data center locations and providing day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
- Collaborating with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution under the direction of Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
- Managing work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
- Participating in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required; the employee must maintain a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; lift >41 pounds for group lifts.
- Work in environments that operate 24/7, including primary responder rotations and after‑hours support.
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Physical ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or at elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Effective customer service skills during problem resolution and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) or relevant experience in Computer Science or Networking Engineering.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as telnet, test‑net connection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, packet capture tools, or similar.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
