Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services engages in the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Network Deploy Technician supports new data center locations and day-to-day capacity management, collaborates with internal customers and external vendors, and works to stabilize and sustain next-generation networks.
Key Responsibilities- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter-connectivity issues, including network device configuration and low-level application interactions
- Assist in migration, configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity, including patch panels and cords
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Support day-to-day capacity management and assist with project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers
- Travel up to 20% within the geographical work area, and possibly internationally
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after-hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of experience in Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management
- Industry-standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or relevant field experience (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering)
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as VFLs, OTDRs, and power meters
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls
- Knowledge of major command-line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
