AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seamless capacity at the lowest possible cost.
- Scale support of multiple data center locations and assist in capacity management
- Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers
- Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks for implementation and troubleshooting
- Maintain and refine operational procedures and best practices for AWS’s vast network infrastructure
- Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system, removing project obstacles and completing customer requests
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds; group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, noisy, or confined spaces
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
Required to travel within and outside the regional work area. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in data center environments (racking, stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Expertise with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work in cramped or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- 1+ year of computer networking experience
- 1+ year of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Physical ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
