We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs every day from 4 pm – 12 midnight. We are looking for a well-rounded and experienced Practice Manager to help us achieve our vision. Pre-opening Responsibilities and Opportunities
  • Practice design
  • Equipment ordering and tracking
  • Pre-opening marketing

  • Support staff interviewing, hiring and training in preparation for the grand opening
  • To be successful as a veterinary practice manager, you should be patient, detail-oriented, and adept  should communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff and demonstrate strong management, organizational, and customer service skills.
General Practice Manager Duties
  • Make informal recommendations to the veterinary regional manager concerning staffing, hours, and other status changes affecting receptionists.
  • Prepare employee work schedules and manage the office staff.
  • Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills, discuss performance requirements, and prepare appraisals.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard appropriate staff; manage performance and policy adherence; assist with salary discussions.
  • Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community by attending relevant local and regional events.
  • Resolve informal employee complaints; maintain effective employee-management communication.
  • Obtain information from owners to complete records and relay practitioners’ orders concerning patient care and treatment.
  • Answer telephone calls politely and professionally.
  • Address pet owners’ complaints promptly and resolve them.
  • Exercise unbiased judgment in personnel matters and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish inventory control, review prices, and manage supplies, including controlled drugs, equipment returns, and vendor relationships.
  • Manage hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA.
  • Ensure payroll is completed and submitted accurately and timely.
  • Notify appropriate veterinary staff of emergency cases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills. Ability to direct, guide, and assist a team.
  • Ability to work well with all team members and support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy.
  • Compassionate and calm team-player.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Highly organized and proficient with computers.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures for patient records and veterinary terminology to maintain accurate records.
  • Self-starter with a desire to continue to advance knowledge and skills.
  • Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital needs.
