The Clinical Supervisor - School-Based Lead, under the supervision of the Clinical Director, is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of assigned school-based counselors and school-based supervisor(s). The Clinical Supervisor - School-Based Lead plans, assigns, directs, and reviews the clinical work of school-based counselors and school-based supervisor(s). They ensure that the relevant Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) are adhered to, that contractual obligations are met, that reports are done, monitor quality assurance, and develop and monitor treatment protocols.
The Clinical Supervisor II also formally reviews and signs off on assessments and treatment plans developed by clinicians.
Supervision Received:
Depending upon location, this position is supervised by the Clinical Director or Clinical Manager.
Supervision Exercised:
This position directly supervises all assigned school-based counselors and school-based supervisor(s).
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight on a daily and regular basis to assigned clinicians. Ensure that care is of the highest clinical standards and consistent with CCS philosophy and policy.
- Ensure that assigned clinicians are apprised of current evidence-based practices (EBPs), implement EBP, and ensure that the agency is meeting or exceeding standards of good clinical outcomes.
- Ensure that all paperwork by the school-based staff is completed in a professional and timely manner, and provide supervision when this goal is not being met.
- Ensure that the quality of clinical work is superior and completed in a professional manner, and provide supervision when this goal is not being met.
- Provide after-hours emergency services on a 24-hour, rotating basis to adults and children. This includes telephone consultation and crisis intervention in the community.
- Ensure knowledge and application of CCS personnel policies and procedures.
- This position recruits, hires, and trains new staff. They provide supervision and conduct performance evaluations, follow policies for employee discipline and termination when necessary, and resolve conflict as appropriate.
- When necessary, in consultation with Clinical Director and/or the Executive Director, engage in disciplinary actions.
- Report all cases of abuse or neglect to the proper agency, complete investigative reports when required, and implement safety plans. Become a Protective Service Investigator.
- Initiate holds, conduct civil commitment investigations, and work with hospitals, case workers, and other agencies for civil commitment processes.
- Provide utilization management for adults and children needing higher levels of care.
- Schedule and participate in meetings with other agencies to ensure continuity of service delivery and to maintain a positive reputation.
- Maintain a caseload. Provide quality individual, group, and family counseling services. Ensure all paperwork is professional and timely.
- Follow the grievance process for customer complaints and work diligently to resolve complaints.
- Ensure that the agency meets or exceeds all relevant OARs and contractual requirements as required by GOBHI, schools, and other obligations.
- Ensure that clients are scheduled in a timely manner.
- Ensure clinical staff coverage by overseeing vacations, sick leave, training, etc.
- Coordinate with prescribers to schedule and ensure coordinated medical treatment.
- Work with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure that clinicians meet quality assurance standards.
- Participate in internal administrative meetings and hold regular clinical staff meetings.
- Communicate with the public to coordinate work programs and inform about services.
- Serve on various boards or committees related to program services.
- Assist the Office Manager in ensuring effective communication between clerical and clinical staff.
- Administer forms for urinalysis testing (UA), provide accurate information, observe UA, and record information.
- Transport customers as needed.
- May be asked to participate in backup on-call rotation for crisis services.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree from an accredited university in psychology, sociology, or other human services-related field and five years of clinical service experience.
- Clinical Supervisor II requires a licensed Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist.
