Assistant City Manager
The City of Tigard, Oregon is seeking a seasoned executive with experience leading a diverse leadership team of directors and professional staff in a complex public-sector organization. The successful candidate has a proven ability to inspire leaders, navigate competing priorities, foster collaboration across departments, and translate strategic vision into measurable results. The new Assistant City Manager is a strategic and forward thinker who will quickly understand the values of Tigard and easily sees the big picture and long-term vision for the city.
The Assistant City Manager brings a fresh yet experienced voice and perspective with a strong ability to see the interdependencies between all departments as an experienced organizational leader. As a creative problem solver, the successful candidate has a strong background in strategic planning and understands the importance of advancing new initiatives while supporting current programs, services, and daily operations. This candidate will also be a trusted leader, relationship builder and collaborator who recognizes that Tigard's success is connected to its neighboring communities and regional partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, public policy, finance, or a related field AND Five (5) years of management or administrative experience in administration and City government.
