Advanced Project Manager - ALS Platform

About the role:

As an Advanced Project Manager on the Dukovany I&C ALS Systems, you will manage the ALS v2 platform development and design completion including new board designs for the Dukovany Project Diverse Systems. The Dukovany project will have diverse systems implemented for the first time in ALS FPGA technology when compared to BNPP and SKN 34 which preceded it. You will also eventually have responsibility for Diverse System scope through equipment delivery and site support including site installation planning and initial energizations for plant startup.

You will report to the Program Manager of Dukovany ALS Systems as part of the PM team and work withICS engineering and GICP manufacturing and test facilities. This is a hybrid role that can be performed from our Cranberry Township, PA or Warrendale, PA facilities. Relocation assistance is available within the US. There can be travel to U.S. and international customer and vendor sites.

• Responsible for project management processes for high complexity, leading a medium-sized teams (average 30 team members).
• Oversee the development of component designs governed by the ALS v2 life cycle development process through concept/planning, requirements, design, implementation, and integration phases. Eventually will include responsibilities for application specific designs for the Dukovany project.
• Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements and subsequent changes to functional groups following an integrated change management process. Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer and stakeholders are kept informed of status. Develop and oversee project records in standard databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally. Manage and interpret project scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications and stakeholders.
• Cultivate positive relationships with team, customer and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) in a matrix environment to facilitate successful project completion.
• Use and support Westinghouse project management systems and controls including the Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR).
• Ensure resource loaded, logic tied schedules are accurate and status is maintained by assigned technical resources; manage the upcoming workloads to find and fix resource issues beforehand.
• Properly close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons and risk avoidance for future work.

• Bachelor's degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience as project manager leading and directing low to moderate complexity projects to successful completion (years of experience in a technical leadership role may be considered)
• PMI or equivalent certification preferred
• Individuals with familiarity with the commercial nuclear industry, global work experience and business acumen are preferred
