Feral Fungi is a family-owned company passionate about producing high-quality, sustainably sourced mushroom products. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Production Associate to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring smooth and efficient production processes while maintaining high standards of product quality and safety. The ideal candidate will be motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn foundational production skills and contribute to the company's overall success.

The Production Associate is expected to be a supportive team member, focused on developing proficiency in key production tasks such as operating machinery, assembling products, and ensuring quality control throughout the production line. The role involves learning to follow standard operating procedures, meeting daily production targets, and maintaining a strong focus on product quality and safety. As the associate progresses, they will also become familiar with the production schedule, inventory needs, and workflow to enhance overall production efficiency.

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our facility in Estacada, OR.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Production Tasks: Support the production team by performing key tasks such as operating machinery, assembling products, and following standard operating procedures to meet production targets.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications, inspect products during production, and report any defects or deviations to supervisors.
  • Safety Protocols: Consistently follow safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Efficiency and Accuracy: Work to meet or exceed production targets while minimizing defects and ensuring a high level of accuracy in product output.

    Collaboration:

    Actively engage in team discussions, seek feedback from more experienced colleagues, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Professional Development: Set personal development goals, participate in training programs, and actively seek opportunities to improve skills and knowledge within the company.
  • Waste Reduction: Contribute to minimizing material waste and scrap through careful handling and efficient use of resources during production processes.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing schedules, production demands, or workflow adjustments.
  • Production Efficiency: Track output per hour or unit of time, as well as cycle times, to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Monitor product defects per batch, ensuring a high first pass yield (FPY) to maintain product quality and minimize errors.
  • On-time Completion: Meet production targets and deadlines, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule to support timely delivery and continuous workflow.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, minimize safety incidents, and contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.
  • Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain production equipment efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring proper handling to maximize productivity.
  • Waste Reduction: Track material usage, reduce scrap and waste, and contribute to cost savings and more sustainable production practices.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in manufacturing or production are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to changes in production demands or schedules.
  • A focus on safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in dietary supplement manufacturing or food production environment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of production equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain processes.
