Production Supervisor

Your role :

As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day operations for packing, warehouse and loading department ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed Safety.  To succeed, you must be able to:

Your responsibilities:

* Oversees and executes day-to-day operations for department ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety

* Partners with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures

* Monitors production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations for continuous improvements

* Participate and lead process improvement initiatives including Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely)

* Partners with local plant management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)

* Develops planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees

* Take counts, correct discrepancies, and provide corrective actions/investigations to solve for any inventory count outside of variance range in the digital Vs physical count

* Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition as well as development and coaching to hourly members

Essential skills and experience:

* Bachelor's degree or High school diploma/GED equivalent with 4 years of production experience

* Minimum of 1 years' experience having leadership responsibilities in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)

* Demonstrated understanding of safety hazards and protocols

* Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems

Good to have:

* Knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting packaging equipment and conveying systems

* Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes

* Reliability centered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices

Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

* Ability to perform work at a computer and other administrative/managerial tasks

* Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator or a harness)

* Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

* Ability to work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:

* Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)

* Indoor/Outdoor environment

* Dusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens)

* Noisy environment

* Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes

* Elevated Places

* Ability to perform work safely which may require:

* Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels

* Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders

* Occasionally lifting, shoveling and/or carrying

* Occasionally pushing and/or pulling

* Working in confined or elevated places
