Forklift Driver
This contract role supports a busy harvest season by operating forklifts to move totes used for storing maraschino cherries in a fast-paced production environment. The assignment is expected to last approximately three months, with the possibility of longer-term opportunities based on performance. You will play a key role in ensuring that production areas remain supplied and that materials move safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
Responsibilities- Operate a forklift safely to load, unload, and move totes containing maraschino cherries throughout the production site.
- Maintain a steady flow of totes to production areas to support continuous operations and meet production demands.
- Handle materials efficiently, including staging, organizing, and relocating totes and other items as directed.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed to support shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
- Use pallet jacks and RF scanners to move materials and track inventory accurately, when required.
- Work at a consistent, steady pace while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, site rules, and instructions from supervisors to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to coordinate material movement and resolve issues quickly.
- Perform general labor tasks related to material handling and production support as needed.
- At least 1 year of recent forklift driving experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in a production or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
- Comfort working in a physically demanding role and in varying outdoor conditions such as rain and heat.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with material handling, inventory, and production operations.
- Proficiency in using pallet jacks for moving materials.
- Experience using RF scanners to track and manage inventory.
- Experience in general labor, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Familiarity with working in a high-volume, fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.

WorkEnvironment
This role is based at a large maraschino cherry production site and involves frequent exposure to outdoor elements, including rain, heat, and other weather conditions. You will work around active production lines and material handling equipment, requiring consistent attention to safety and adherence to site protocols. The position is physically demanding, involving regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, and performing general labor tasks.
The schedule aligns with production needs during the harvest ramp-up, and you are expected to maintain a steady work pace throughout your shift while following all safety and operational guidelines.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.10 - $19.12/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
