Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Mechanic role in Sherwood, OR. Key Responsibilities:- Assemble and install mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on heavy machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure proper installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete assemblies.
- Perform functional tests and quality inspections to ensure equipment meets specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues during assembly.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes and resolve issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace while adhering to lean manufacturing principles
.
- Proven experience as an Assembly Mechanic, Equipment Assembler, or similar role in heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing
. - Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
. - Proficiency in using hand tools, torque wrenches, and measurement equipment
. - Basic understanding of welding, machining, or fabrication is a plus.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Technical degree or certification in Mechanical Assembly, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working with cranes, forklifts, or large industrial machinery
. - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes
