Role SummaryReporting to the Packaging Lead, the Packaging General Laborer will assist in all aspects of packaging, including operating packaging equipment, cleaning equipment, inspecting finished products and packaging, and ensuring weight accuracy to orders. The candidate must work independently, read and interpret safety instructions, and be willing to stand and walk up to 10 hours per day, frequently push, pull, and lift up to 55 pounds.
Responsibilities- Weigh completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.
- Clear equipment jams.
- Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.
- Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions.
- Package products for storage or shipment.
- Repair production equipment or tools.
- Stack finished items for further processing or shipment.
- Count finished products or work pieces.
- Inspect packaging container to ensure it is properly filled and secured.
- Inspect work to ensure standards are met.
- Move materials, equipment, or supplies to and from line.
- Set up and clean packaging equipment, or temporary structures.
- Load materials into equipment for packaging.
- Mark materials or objects for identification.
- Clean facilities or work areas.
- Follow all safety and GMP protocols and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
- 3 - 6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility.
- Frequently stand, walk, climb or balance.
- Push, pull, lift up to 55 pounds frequently.
- Visually inspect packaging supplies and equipment.
