Production Worker / Packaging Operator
Salary: $19-$21/hour
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Job Type: Temp to hire possibility
Pre‑employment background check and drug screen required.
Responsibilities- The packaging operator is required to perform bagging and baler operations as assigned by the Shift Leads.
- Operate machinery in a productive manner while following established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist other production areas as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assist Shift Leads in starting and stopping the pellet mills.
- Communicate any moisture or material problems to the Shift Lead.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate bagging and baler machines, shrink‑wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and bag sealers.
- Stack bags on pallets, place covers on pallets, and move finished goods to the correct warehouse location.
- Accurately complete the Bagger production report, fill pellet sample cups each ton for quality‑control information, and tag pallets with quality‑control tags indicating initials, date, ton number, and shift.
- Forklift experience required.
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Complete the company forklift training and pass the certification exam.
- Ability to read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust baler weight and timing and address simple maintenance problems.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
