The Scarf Line Operator is responsible for operating the scarf line in our MPP manufacturing facility, reporting directly to the Plant Manager or Shift Supervisor. Primary duties involve scarfing large laminated panels; cutting precise joints, applying glue, pressing, and curing the joints followed by sanding, cutting, and stacking. This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality Mass Plywood Panels (MPP), an innovative, patented building material.
EssentialFunctions
- Operate the scarf line to cut joints in panels (up to 12 ft wide x 48 ft long x 24 in thick), apply adhesives, press, and cure joints while maintaining strict quality standards for joint integrity, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances.
- Perform secondary processes including sanding, panel cutting, and stacking.
- Ensure consistent quality control across all finished panels.
- Flexibly support other areas as needed, such as MPP press operations, CNC machining, inventory management, product preparation for shipment, basic carpentry, and overhead crane operation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, efficient work environment.
- Background in plywood, engineered wood, or similar facilities (e.g., resins, presses, panel sawing, finishing).
- Forklift certification or experience.
Continuous standing, walking, and movement; repetitive use of shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers. Lifting up to 40 lbs; frequent stair climbing and boarding/disboarding machinery.
Schedule:
5-6 days per week;
Swing Shift after Day Shift training.

High school diploma or GED. - Experience:
Minimum 1 year in manufacturing, woodworking, or related field. - Strong attention to detail, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to quality and safety.
