L1 Packaging Operator Trainee

Location:

Boardman, OR

Position operates, monitors and adjusts packaging equipment in a manner consistent with safety, food safety, quality, and production standards.

• Monitor line sanitation, Ink-jet coder, bagger operation, Dyna-pack operation, settlers and case sealers.
• Perform routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors.
• Monitor line flow rates and regularly check proper feed of product through baggers.
• Monitor and adjust vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance.
• Order packaging material.
• Ensure proper container sizing.
• Record packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and complete reports accurately.
• Ensure complete packaging quality of product, taking regular checks of weights, seals, glue patterns, etc.
• Complete CILs and centerlines.
• Participate in AMD Drumbeats.
• Rework product when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  X degree in X required;
  High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Certifications required:
  Lock‑out/Tag‑out, Forklift, and Sanitation.
• Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
• Effective communication in English, verbally and in writing.
• Experience driving forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposure to a noisy environment, temperatures ranging from
  -20°F to 90°F, and conditions such as heat, cold, wet, slippery, dirt, fumes, smoke, and odors.
• Repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
• Must work with hands and arms overhead, within or under equipment, and at heights via stairs or ladders.
• Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance required at ground level and in high places.
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.

Pay Rate: $25.98 per hour (estimated).
