Schedule:

6p – 6:30a, rotating days of the week

Salary: Potential to earn up to $33–$34/hour. Base pay $30–$31/hour DOE, plus monthly incentive bonus.

Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Shift Supervisor works with their assigned manufacturing team to coordinate the production of high-quality wood pellets in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions:

• Coach, lead, and manage the production crew
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and all team members on the shift, maintain an organized and safe operating environment, and drive the Lignetics Safety System at the crew level
• Set standards on the shift for housekeeping, quality, and productivity
• Monitor shift performance and communicate/coordinate improvement initiatives
• Administer the personal development program for the team
• Oversee the operations of the green in-feed system, dryer system, dry hammer mill system, kiln-dried system, pellet mills, and associated equipment
• Maintain accurate production and downtime records, including operator logs
• Monitor quality test results and address root causes of incidents outside specified ranges
• Serve as relief in all positions and cover absences on the team when needed
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Production Manager

Shift Supervisor Job Specifications:

• Strong communication skills; adapt leadership style as needed and hold the team to standards
• Ability to motivate a team
• Continuous improvement mindset
• 3–5 years of leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced 24/7 environment; direct wood pellet manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience in manufacturing process troubleshooting; demonstrated delegation and problem-solving abilities preferred
• Ability to coach, train, and mentor
• Good communication and documentation skills

Physical Demands:

• Stand or walk for extended periods (approximately 80% of the time)
• Change positions often; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
• Visually observe and inspect equipment and surroundings
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly
