Role Description

The CNC Machinist Supervisor is a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations, responsible for leading a team of CNC machinists to ensure efficient and precise production of aerospace components. This role demands strong technical expertise in CNC machining, leadership skills, and a steadfast commitment to quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Incorporate and uphold NW Manufacturing Groups core values and policies.
  • Lead and supervise CNC machinists in the assigned machine group to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure housekeeping is upheld in all assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to meet part specifications.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on CNC machines, ensuring optimal functionality and accurate maintenance records.
  • Train and mentor machinists in CNC programming, machine operation, and quality control procedures.
  • Manage personnel in the machining team, including conducting performance appraisals and providing constructive feedback for professional development.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize machining processes and resolve production challenges.
  • Manage inventory of machining tools, materials, and supplies to support uninterrupted production.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Design, build, and validate fixturing for customer parts.
  • Ensure routine shop maintenance is performed consistently.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of all related product documentation.
  • Maintain clean and organized shop environment.
