The Harvest Assistant plays an important role in bringing Westwood Farms’ hops from the field to breweries around the world. Working alongside our experienced harvest team, this seasonal position supports hop picking, drying, packaging, record keeping and delivery while helping ensure every batch meets our high standards for quality, safety and care.

This is a unique opportunity for beer and hop enthusiasts to experience hop harvest firsthand, learn how aroma hops are grown and processed, and see the connection between the farm and the finished beer. We are proud to grow premium hops on our Oregon farm and enjoy sharing our knowledge with people who are curious about agriculture, brewing and the craft beer industry.

The role is hands-on, fast-paced and physically demanding. Ideal candidates are dependable, safety‑minded, willing to learn and excited to contribute during the busiest and most rewarding part of the hop‑growing season. No previous farm or brewing experience is required—just a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and an appreciation for great hops and beer.

• Assist the hop harvest team with harvesting and processing hops from the field to the processor.
• Support hop picking, drying, packaging and delivery activities during harvest season.
• Assist the head hop dryer with the hop drying process.
• Measure and record hop cone moisture.
• Monitor and record kiln temperatures.
• Load and unload hop kilns.
• Clean the hop drying facility.
• Clean and maintain the hop picking facility.
• Maintain hop harvest records and data accurately.
• Assist with other aspects of the hop harvest and delivery process, including light–duty farm equipment and other farm vehicles as assigned.
• Follow all safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements to help maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
• Follow governmental, third‑party, environmental, food safety and certification requirements.
• Assist with other farm activities as requested.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Agricultural experience preferred.
• Experience working with hops a plus but not required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills a plus.
• Ability to work on feet and move across uneven ground from task to task across farm fields.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors for 8–10 hours per day, with up to 12 hours per day during peak season.
• Ability to work evening and night shifts.
• Reliable transportation to and from Westwood Farms.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to complete a background check.

This position requires regular physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, stooping and bending. Work requires continuous mental and visual attention to monitor production processes, complete repetitive or varied tasks and identify quality or safety concerns.

Work is performed in agricultural harvest environments and may include exposure to dust, dirt, heat, cold, fumes, noise, vibration and water. Worker safety is our top priority,

This is a seasonal harvest role. Westwood’s hop harvest will run from August 25th to September 18th, 2026, with limited interruptions. We are looking for a dayshift and night shift positions. Candidates should expect extended hours, evening or night shifts and weekend work.

This position is hourly with overtime hours available. DOE.
