Knockout Operator

Selmet is seeking a Knockout Operator to support titanium casting production for aerospace components at our Springfield, OR facility. In this hands-on role, you will remove castings from molds, perform knockout, gating removal, and initial cleaning using pneumatic tools, hammers, and other equipment. You will inspect castings for defects, follow safety and quality procedures, and accurately document work performed. Working closely with production and quality teams, you'll help maintain flow through the foundry while supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate knockout equipment and tools to remove castings from molds
• Perform gating and riser removal, basic cleaning, and part separation
• Inspect castings for visible defects and report nonconformances
• Follow all safety, PPE, and housekeeping standards in the foundry area
• Read and follow work instructions, travelers, and basic shop documentation
• Handle and move castings safely using hoists, carts, and other devices
• Support quality and production goals by maintaining steady workflow
• Assist with basic equipment checks and notify maintenance of issues
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and supervision teams
