Location: Scio

Selmet is seeking a Metals Operator to support titanium casting production for aerospace and defense components. In this role, you will prepare and handle metal alloys, load and monitor furnaces, and assist with pouring operations to precise specifications. You will inspect parts, record production data, and follow detailed work instructions and quality procedures. This position requires strict adherence to safety, use of gauges and measurement tools, and collaboration with engineers, technicians, and teammates in a high-tech, continuous-improvement manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor metal melting and casting equipment for titanium components
  • Handle and prepare metal alloys according to production specifications and work orders
  • Assist with furnace loading, pouring, and solidification processes while following strict safety procedures
  • Inspect cast parts for defects using basic measurement and visual inspection tools
  • Record production data, equipment readings, and quality checks accurately
  • Follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures, and aerospace quality requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in safety and 5

  • Communicate equipment or quality issues to supervisors, maintenance, and engineering teams
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance throughput, yield, and quality
