Furnace Operator

Selmet is seeking a Furnace Operator to support titanium casting production at our Springfield, OR facility. In this role, you will set up, load, and operate high-temperature furnaces used to melt and heat-treat titanium aerospace components. Responsibilities include monitoring furnace controls, recording process data, adjusting parameters to meet specifications, and following detailed work instructions and safety procedures. You will perform basic equipment checks, assist with routine maintenance, handle materials using appropriate tools/PPE, and collaborate with quality and production teams to ensure precise, consistent results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor titanium melting and heat-treat furnaces per work instructions
• Load and unload parts, molds, and fixtures safely using appropriate tools and PPESet, verify, and adjust furnace temperatures, cycles, and vacuum/atmosphere settings
• Record process parameters, run data, and production information accurately
• Follow aerospace quality standards and procedures to meet specifications
• Conduct basic equipment checks and support routine furnace maintenance
• Identify and report equipment, material, or process abnormalities promptly
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
• Adhere to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout, and environmental regulations
