This position is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and proper handling of incoming materials and parts. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safe material handling practices, and proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Receive and inspect incoming materials, parts, and components for accuracy, quality, and damage.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damaged shipments to the appropriate department.
- Safely store materials in designated areas, maintaining organization and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate records of materials received, parts produced, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines when handling materials and operating equipment.
- Assist in inventory management, including tracking stock levels, labeling, and organizing parts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Consistently receive, inspect, and handle materials accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments regarding material or production issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations without exception.
- Complete assigned tasks on time to support production schedules.
- Accurately document material receipts, parts produced, and machine maintenance activities.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or process improvements promptly.
- Continuously seek to improve efficiency, accuracy, and knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Respectfully take direction from manager.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Vocational training or coursework in manufacturing, machining, or materials handling is a plus but not required.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills necessary for interpreting work orders, measuring parts, and recording data.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings or blueprints is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Strong attentions to detail to ensure accuracy in parts fabrication and material handling.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Knowledge of material handling and storage procedures.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, including OSHA standards and safe machine operation.
- Good organizational skills to maintain inventory and keep the workspace orderly.
- Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve material or equipment issues.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for lifting, moving, and positioning materials as required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with receiving, inspecting, and handling materials or parts.
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders.
- Experience with measuring tools and quality inspection techniques.
- Previous work in a role requiring adherence to safety protocols and proper material handling.
- Experience with inventory management, labeling, and documentation is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
