Position Summary

The 3rd Shift Sanitation Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all sanitation activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. This individual will manage sanitation personnel, develop and implement sanitation programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready production environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of sanitation leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the overnight sanitation team to ensure effective and efficient cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment and facility areas.
  • Ensure all sanitation procedures comply with USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, BRC, and company food safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs).
  • Conduct inspections and verification activities to confirm cleaning effectiveness and readiness for production.
  • Coordinate pre-operational inspections with Quality Assurance and Operations teams.
  • Manage sanitation schedules to ensure production requirements are met while minimizing downtime.
  • Train, coach, and develop sanitation employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, safety requirements and food safety procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain sanitation documentation, records, and compliance reporting.
  • Investigate sanitation-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Production, Quality and Food Safety teams to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Manage sanitation chemicals, inventory, equipment and vendor relationships.
  • Support customer, regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on sanitation effectiveness, labor efficiency, and food safety performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
