Hours:
1pm to 9:30pm
Pay: $20.00/hr, plus $1.00/hr for 2nd shift, total = $21.00/hr

Operate machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manual following all safety procedures. Adjust machinery when operating and ensures machine adjustments or changes of materials is completed in a timely manner. The Operator must demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the product being produced and able to make adjustments as necessary to achieve maximum quality. These positions have a direct effect on the quality of our products.
The Operator performs minor preventative maintenance (PMs) as necessary and will perform cleaning and sanitation procedures n the equipment. The incumbent also evaluates upstream and downstream line dependencies and communicates changes to other operators or line personnel. This requires strong leadership and demonstrated skills to maintain upstream and downstream line equipment in harmony. Operator evaluates throughput problems and bottlenecks and makes reasonable recommendations to solve the problem.
Reports any problem with the equipment or supplies to their Supervisor, Shift Lead or Team Leader. Troubleshoots equipment effectively, appropriately seeks assistance of a trained Mechanic and explains equipment problems to the mechanic and ask questions if necessary.
Equipment typically operated by a Machine Operator II includes:
- Labeler - Case Packer
- Bright Stack Operator - D-palletizer
- Palletizer Operator - X-ray
This role may be used as a training prerequisite for a higher-level Machine Operator position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMachine operator is responsible for the following duties:
- Set up equipment at beginning of shift and during shift
- Stock supplies and ensure correct supplies are used.
- Prime and test equipment as needed.
- Make changes to equipment and packaging as required.
- Effectively troubleshoot equipment.
- Performs minor Preventative Maintenance as required.
- Performs sanitation on the line.
- When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
- Document operations by completing all required forms.
- Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
- Change materials to avoid downtime and identify sub-standard supplies.
- Maintain timing of the canning line so that backup is minimal.
- Follow all GMP and food safety requirements.
- Correct any line jams that may occur.
