Physical Therapist Assistant – UHC Staffing Physical Therapist Assistant

Location: Oregon, MO

Start Date: 12-01-2026

End Date: 03-02-2027

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days (day shift). Start time flexible between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM; exact schedule to be agreed with Director of Rehab (consistent schedule preferred).

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled rehabilitative treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, using evidence-based practice
  • Deliver manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation training and modalities to improve patient function
  • Safely fit and train patients on assistive and supportive devices to promote independence
  • Assess patient progress, document changes, and communicate treatment adjustments to the supervising PT
  • Accurately record treatment minutes and maintain complete electronic patient records per regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to discharge summaries and report outcome effectiveness to the supervising PT
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review and rehabilitation meetings to coordinate care
  • Provide patient, family and caregiver education and counseling to support recovery goals
  • Support DME coordination and obtain necessary supplies in collaboration with supervising PT
  • Supervise and mentor PTA students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist
Qualifications
  • Active PTA license (Physical Therapist Assistant) — Missouri state licensure required (Compact allowed)
  • Minimum 1 year of PTA experience — REQUIRED
  • Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings — REQUIRED
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Adherence to APTA and state practice acts, professional ethics and conduct
  • Comfort supervising students and supporting clinical education
Knowledge & Skills
  • Patient assessment and treatment planning with outcome-focused approach
  • Skilled in manual techniques, therapeutic exercise and modalities
  • Competent with ambulation training and use of assistive/supportive devices
  • Knowledge of Medicare A/B considerations and productivity expectations
  • Clear interdisciplinary communication and patient/family counseling skills
  • Documentation excellence — accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant
  • Ability to participate in utilization review, rehab meetings and care conferences
  • Productivity and time management for typical treatment schedules
