Overview

Volunteer Advocates Needed for TURNER/AUMSVILLE role at Oregon Long-Term Care Ombudsman. Volunteers advocate for the rights and dignity of residents who are elderly and disabled living in long-term care facilities.

• Visit residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult foster homes to listen to concerns.
• Resolve complaints and advocate for residents' rights and well-being.
• Work with a team to ensure concerns are addressed and residents are treated with dignity.
• Provide support to residents by reporting issues such as call lights, meals, medications, and other care concerns.
• Engage in training and participate in a team environment to improve outcomes for residents.

• No special degree required; compassionate heart, listening ear, and desire to make a difference.
• Willingness to learn; training and support provided.
• Ability to commit a few hours of time each week and work flexibly with the program.
