Planting at Chehalem Ridge Nature Park; age + Referral

Metro believes that connection to land promotes joy and wellbeing and nurtures a sense of belonging, reciprocity and generosity. The nature activities offered by Metro’s community education and stewardship team are designed to be collaborative, safe and welcoming. By participating in this planting you are helping restore a former timber farm back to a forest.

Participants will help plant native plants along the Woodland Trail, starting near the parking lot/ shelter area, at Chehalem Ridge Nature Park. All tools, supplies and some snacks will be provided. Trail has a slight incline to flat and may be on uneven ground.

Participants can learn about the different plants that exist, the ones we are restoring. Participants will learn more about the site and have the opportunity to learn how to stay involved.

Opportunity Requirements:

Volunteers must be10years of age or olderto participate in this opportunity; any volunteerunder age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
