Responsibilities
  • Schedule, lead, and coordinate the daily activities of a defined unit on the assigned shift.
  • Oversee delivery of optimal, safe, and high-quality nursing care while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide leadership to staff as a resource, role model, mentor, and change agent for the assigned department.
  • Direct and supervise a team of nurses and support staff, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and to policies and accepted nursing protocols.
  • Coordinate services with other patient care units to ensure patient flow; provide direct specialty nursing services as appropriate.
  • Assist the department manager in achieving unit and organizational goals; supervise personnel across multiple levels using professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Oregon.
  • Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience in a hospital/acute care setting.
  • Completion of an approved RN education program (licensure and eligibility to practice as an RN in Oregon).
  • Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and patient care protocols.
