Center Medical Specialist – Plasma Donation Center

Grifols is a global healthcare company focused on plasma‑derived medicines and transfusion medicine. Our plasma donation centers employ medical specialists to ensure donor safety and satisfaction.

The Center Medical Specialist conducts physical examinations and establishes medical histories to determine donor suitability, builds rapport with donors, and ensures confidentiality. Responsibilities also include donor hazard awareness, education, injury and adverse event evaluation, employee training, and administration of the employee Hepatitis vaccine program.

• Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability.
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
• Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel on unacceptable test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
• Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
• Assist in employee training.
• Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

• Certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification.

• Work performed standing and sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day.
• Requires bending and twisting of the neck for 1–2 hours per day.
• Frequent hand and finger movements with precise coordination.
• Light lifting of up to 15 lbs, maximum lift of 50 lbs.
• Vision: near vision and far vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100 respectively.
• Color perception/discrimination, hearing acuity essential.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Works independently and follows oral or written instructions.
• Exposure to biological fluids, electrical equipment, and extreme cold below 32 °F; personal protective equipment required.
