Employment Details

Exempt (expectation to work 24 hours per week). Required to be on‑call each day from end of shift to beginning of next shift daily. Additional on‑call pay included.

B24 Psychiatrist ($132,840 - $216,540 annually, depending on experience) OR N17 PMHNP I ($89,640 - $109,260 annually, depending on experience) OR N18 PMHNP II ($98,580 - $120,480 annually, depending on experience) OR N19 PMHNP III ($108,480 - $132,840 annually, depending on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Completes psychiatric evaluations as required on new clients. Reevaluates and updates as needed.
  • Performs age‑appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill peri‑operative patients.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age‑specific needs.
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health‑care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
  • Reviews and evaluates clinical data pertaining to physical status of client.
  • Reviews and follows up on previous mental and physical treatment plans.
  • Leads prescribed individual, group therapy and/or education sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures.
  • Reviews, approves and signs individual plans of service of clients.
  • Documents and updates client’s progress in progress notes.
  • Prescribes client medication. Monitors medication effectiveness and modifies as necessary.
  • Works with team members, including clinicians, nurses and social workers to discuss client progress and outlook. Coordinates with outside agencies as necessary. Acts as a client advocate when appropriate.
  • Contacts client’s relatives to arrange family conferences if necessary.
  • Provides seclusion and restraint, de‑escalation, and other facility related trainings to CCS employees.
  • Provides after‑hours services during regularly scheduled work week. This includes telephone consultation as needed with CCS employees and crisis intervention in the community and facility.
  • Responsible to work closely with supervisor to find backup when on vacation.
  • Completes all paperwork in a professional, clinically sound and timely manner as prescribed by the OAR’s and other pertinent guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree in psychiatry from an accredited program.
  • Completion of an adult residency.
  • Licensed by the State of Oregon.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Preference given to individuals who have worked with individuals who have mental illnesses in a residential or psychiatric hospital setting.
Additional Requirements
  • Pre‑hire drug screen required.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles used for CCS business, with liability coverage of $300,000 or more bodily injury and $100,000 or more property damage, maintained for the duration of employment.
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536‑181.537, OAR 410‑007‑0200 through 410‑007‑0380, and be checked monthly against OIG and GSA exclusion lists. Any exclusions or sanctions result in immediate termination.
Physical Demands

Employee must regularly use hands to finger, handle, smell or feel. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Requires close and distance vision.

Work Environment

Work performed in an office/secure facility and in the community. Noise level moderate, may encounter loud noises. Occasional out‑of‑area travel and overnight stays required for meetings and trainings. Employee may need to respond to environments where a client is in crisis, including uneven terrain. Normal safety precautions apply.
