Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who provide individualized high‑quality, safe patient care. They work within the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence‑based practice. RN Clinical Nurses uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association’s Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics.
The role supports service excellence, patient advocacy, and system policies.
- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
:
Performs the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking to deliver individualized care and coordinate partnerships for optimal outcomes. - Relationship‑Based Patient‑Centred Care
:
Provides culturally sensitive care that adapts to patient characteristics such as age, gender, and disease, ensuring that patient goals remain central to the plan of care. - Teamwork and Collaboration
:
Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, high‑quality patient care, promotes inclusive interdisciplinary communication (rounds, case reviews), maintains timely documentation, and fosters a respectful clinical environment. - Professional Development and Initiative
:
Completes competency assessments, mandatory and population‑specific education, and serves as a preceptor or mentor to nurses, staff, and students, modeling professional practice and fostering a healthy work environment. - Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
:
Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement activities; participates in data collection, formulates clinical questions, consults experts, and uses appropriate evidence to address practice questions. - Resource Management
:
Plans patient care proactively across the continuum, develops protocols in collaboration with the health‑care team, supports efficient use of resources, and reduces re‑admission rates, avoidable days, and adverse events. - Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent Nursing Diploma
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ARC‑ALC, ACLS‑I, ACLS‑P (within 180 days)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or ARC‑BLS, BLS‑I
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Single State or RN‑Compact
- Minimum 1 year of direct patient nursing care experience (preferred)
- Proficient English reading, writing, and speaking; basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills
- Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect
- Excellent time‑management, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills
