Job Description:

The RN in the Operating Room is responsible for preoperative, interoperative, and postoperative care. RNs will supervise a certified surgical technologist (CST), covering after-hours call split between two nurses. ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.

Responsibilities:

• Preoperative Nursing:
  Prepare patients for surgery, including preop history, physical assessment, vital signs assessment, starting IVs, and administering medications.
• Postoperative Nursing:
  Monitor vital signs, manage postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), pain, and unstable vital signs with oxygen or blood pressure support.
• Circulating:
  Assist surgeons during general, orthopedic, cataract surgeries, c-sections, and trauma cases.
• Charting:
  Use Cerner for documentation.

Requirements:

• Experience in Pre-Op, Inter-Op, and Post-Op care.
• Ability to supervise a CST; scrub experience preferred but not required.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications for the OR.
