POSITION SUMMARY
Directly accountable to the CNO to administer, plan, develop, direct, evaluate and coordinate education programs implemented by the facility in with the current federal and state guidelines and the facilities policy. Will be responsible to align delivery of the nursing education with the developing culture change concepts in care of the residents and patients within our Acute Department. Manages education related staff within the District.
EDUCATIONBachelor of Science in Nursing (RN) required for RN program instruction.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONCurrent, unencumbered RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required. Current CPR, ACLS, NRP, ENPC, and TNCC certification required.
EXPERIENCERequires current unencumbered RN license in the State of Oregon. Requires two (2) years' experience and demonstrated competence in planning, implementing, and directing educational programs for adults in the nursing field. Requires completion of an approved train the trainer course in order to understand education principles related to the adult learner and as required by the topic requirements.
JOB KNOWLEDGEGeneral knowledge regarding federal/state regulations for Acute care facilities.
SKILLSDemonstrates clinical skills competency as a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing care to patient and residents. Able to understand and capable of implementing the duties within the scope of regulation of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act (NPA). Understands and follows verbal and written directions. Working knowledge and ability to comply with facilities policies and processes and acts as a educational resource for nursing staff and students.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks, respond abilities, complete duties/projects within allotted time and respond to change productively and handle additional tasks/projects as assigned. Communicates effectively with resident and patient families, medical staff, nursing staff, students, and other facility departments internally and externally.
