LPN Unit Assistant - Orthopedic​/Surgery Medicine - PRN

Position Summary

The LPN UA position is responsible for supporting inpatient nursing care units under the direction of the registered nurse (RN).

• Current Louisiana LPN licensure.
• Current BLS certification from ILCOR‑provided courses (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, American Red Cross). The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• Intravenous (IV) therapy certification.
• Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Typing and computer skills; knowledge of medical terminology; ability to perform detail‑oriented tasks.
• Ability to meet weekend and holiday requirements.
• Good physical health, able to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift at least 50 lbs, work in moderate noise.

• One year medical/surgical experience preferred.

• Stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Perform tasks that require moderate noise tolerance.
