Explore Salem, OrSalem, OR pairs a state-capital economy with the Willamette Valley's farm belt, and its hospital market serves both the city and the rural counties toward the Coast Range. Emergency department and telemetry needs make up much of the travel demand. I-5 runs the eastern edge, putting Portland about an hour north and Eugene an hour south, while OR-22 reaches the coast in roughly ninety minutes.
Keizer adjoins the city as the most common housing choice, with Woodburn and Albany as alternatives up and down the interstate. Riverfront Park and the Minto-Brown Island paths sit against downtown for time off. Rents undercut Portland by a wide margin, the main financial draw of basing here.
