Reports to:
Operations Manager Compensation: $130,000–$135,000 base + overtime + benefits. An additional $5,000 base increase is awarded upon successful completion of training.
Your Impact As our Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor, you’ll own the shift’s performance on the production floor. Picture your day: you arrive, review overnight operating data, and huddle with your operators to set priorities. A minor process deviation is flagged—you dig into the data, adjust parameters, and guide the team to stabilize the unit. Throughout the shift, you track raw material usage and yields, ensuring we get the most from every input while meeting stringent quality standards.
You coordinate with Maintenance to plan a quick equipment swap, keep an eye on environmental controls across air, water, and solid waste, and coach a new operator through a critical task. Safety is your constant—training, audits, and Responsible Care initiatives are part of your core rhythm.
What You’ll DoDirect daily production activities and keep units within target parameters.
Analyze operating data; investigate variances and take corrective action to control costs.
Guide operators with hands-on technical training and share process expertise.
Optimize raw material utilization and monitor production yields for quality and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with environmental requirements (air, water, solid) and support Responsible Care programs.
Maintain and upgrade operating procedures; drive process and equipment improvements.
Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to meet schedules and budget goals.
Troubleshoot equipment and process upsets to sustain safe, reliable operations.
Oversee receiving and unloading of products and raw materials.
Lead safety meetings, area inspections, and assist with PHA reviews and ISO, EHS, and regulatory audits.
What You Bring High school diploma.
Current Stationary Engineers license.
5+ years in an industrial manufacturing setting.
2+ years supervising or leading teams; proficiency with MS Office, payroll systems, and CMMS.Uncompromising commitment to safety.
Health & Capability Requirements All employees must successfully complete annual medical evaluations, including a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), and must be able to wear a respirator; this is a condition of employment.
Physical demands/work environment:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Close vision may be required. Expect extended periods outdoors and periodic use of protective clothing/equipment. Ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders is essential.
