- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the transportation facility, rail yard, buildings and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Carry and maintain authorized equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements and post orders.
- Control access for employees, contractors, drivers and visitors, including verifying identification, logging entries and exits and/or issuing visitor credentials as required by site policy.
- Conduct vehicle and/or cargo area checks when directed by post orders, observing for prohibited items, suspicious activity and/or signs of tampering.
- Monitor alarm panels, cameras and/or other site systems, and report irregular conditions per site procedures.
- Communicate with site leadership, dispatch and/or local first responders as needed during incidents, documenting actions taken and notifications made.
- Complete daily activity reports, incident reports and shift logs with accurate details, including times, locations and descriptions of observed activity.
- Support traffic flow at gates, checkpoints and yard roadways as needed, directing vehicles to designated routes and staging areas per site guidelines.
- Perform perimeter checks of fencing, gates, lighting and other access points, reporting maintenance issues and/or security-related concerns to the appropriate contact.
- Maintain a professional presence and follow de-escalation practices during customer interactions, disputes and/or enforcement of site rules.
- Have 2+ years law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
- An armed guard card and/or license is required.
- A valid driver s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
