Learn about native plants and wildlife, while building community.
About the ProgramMetro manages more than 19,000 acres of parks and natural areas. By participating in this stewardship activity you are helping decommission unofficial trails, preventing erosion and restoring needed habitat for local animals, insects and birds.
Participants have the opportunity to learn about the site, local plants and fauna, while building community and restoring habitat for all.
About the ProjectJoin the Community Education & Stewardship team from Metro Parks and Nature at Scouters Mountain Nature Park to plant native plants along the hiking trails. Other activities may include spreading mulch or removing weeds. All tools, supplies and instruction will be provided. Some light snacks will be available.
- Age: Volunteers of all ages are able to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
- Accessibility: moderate level activity with a short walk on uneven ground.
