Landscape-Groundskeeper; Temporary

Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026

The Oakridge School District is looking for a temporary part‑time landscape worker/groundskeeper.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with landscaping and grounds in conjunction with the Facilities Manager through the summer months. This position is for the period of July 1, 2026 – approximately August 19, 2026.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background and Criminal History Clearance.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
• Demonstrated knowledge of application, storage, and safe use of chemicals and pesticides.
• Ability to operate various power tools and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Support Facilities Manager in the care of all lawn areas including athletic fields by watering, mowing and fertilizing.
• Provide care for hedges, shrubs, trees, including pruning, trimming, disease and pest control, plant seeds, bulbs and annuals as needed and maintain them throughout the year.
• Install and repair fences.
• Assist with snow and ice removal, if any, from sidewalks, entryways and driveways and spread sand, salt or ashes to prevent slipping.
• Respond to any grounds-related emergency that arises as requested.
• Work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff.
• Perform tasks that require hand‑eye and foot coordination, carrying, positioning, grasping, and operating a variety of hand and power tools.
• Drive District vehicles, including large and small mowers, tractors, and spray rigs with or without trailers.

• Possible exposure to bodily fluids due to employee illness or injury.
• Work is performed primarily in outdoor locations on school and district grounds.
• Extreme variations in weather conditions and temperature can occur.
• Occasionally perform other duties as required by supervisor.

Part-time Temporary. Salary and benefits based on the current District Classified Salary. Salary range: $18.37 to $21.99 per hour.
