Job Overview
A&H Forestry, LLC, located in Sherwood, OR is hiring for the 2025 Wildfire Season. Positions include operators, FFT2, FFT1, ENGB, CDL Driver for type 4,5,6 engines and chipper.
ResponsibilitiesWildland firefighting requires crew members to participate in all aspects of fire suppression while on assignment.
Responsibilities include:
- Initial attack
- Extended attack
- Fire line construction
- Hose lay operations
- Firing operations
- Mop‑up
- Keeping the trucks clean and operational
Wildland firefighting is demanding physically and emotionally, with long and stressful workdays. Crew members are expected to work upwards of 100 days during the summer, typically June to November, staying out of town in fire camps in tents for 14 to 21 days. Showers and food are provided at these camps.
Work requires outdoor labor in all weather conditions, including prolonged strenuous activity, work at heights, exposure to chemicals, forest fires, and loud machinery. Jobs are performed in remote locations often without cell service.
QualificationsMinimum requirements:
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Pass the NWCG pack test (walk 3 miles on level ground with a 45‑lb pack in less than 45 minutes).
- Have your own Vibram 8‑inch tall boots, tent, sleeping bag, 14 days of socks and underwear/toiletries.
- For higher pay, hold all required certificates and task books from qualifying fires/incidents.

Pay: $28.73–$47.50 per hour
Expected hours: 90–120 per week
