Seasonal Caldera Springs Groundskeeper

Overview

The Groundskeeper is responsible for working in a team environment to ensure the overall upkeep and eye appeal of the Caldera Springs Owners’ Association (CSOA) grounds. The Groundskeeper will use a variety of tools, machines and other necessary materials to provide maintenance and landscaping to the grounds, as well as the upkeep of the restrooms and other CSOA public areas. The Groundskeeper will assist with maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards.

• Operate powered equipment such as snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, brush trimmers, lift trucks, and pruning saws.
• Assist in the routine upkeep and landscape of the adopt-a-road program.
• Clean designated restrooms including shower stalls, toilets, urinals, mirrors, sinks, countertops, and floors.
• Maintain bike paths.
• Assist with maintaining all noxious weeds in the area.
• Remove downed trees by cutting and hauling to woodpiles.
• Maintain and care for tennis courts.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, and hedge and brush trimmers.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Maintain and repair ground tools and equipment.
• Mix and spray fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders under supervision.
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, and other ground features.
• Irrigate plants and flowers.
• Assist with general installation and repairs of irrigation systems.
• Perform general gardening duties.
• Contact the appropriate party if a guest problem is reported.
• Provide general resort information for guests.
• Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort/homeowners as they may come in contact with guests during their daily duties.
• Resolve guest problems and be empowered to act in the absence of a manager.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
• Interact with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
• Upsell other resort services and amenities to guests.
• Always maintain a professional demeanor and attitude.
• Communicate all pertinent information to the CSOA team.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior landscaping/grounds experience preferred.
• Prior experience with powered landscaping machines preferred.

• Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s license and meet company driving standards.
• Must be able to work with designated chemicals.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (rain, sleet, ice, snow, and heat).
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, and twist on a frequent basis, often for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to climb ladders and climb into and out of mobile equipment on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and fine manipulation occasionally.
