Job Title:

Quality Control & Safety Manager

The Quality Control & Safety Manager oversees the quality and safety of industrial hoses and fittings received from vendors, ensuring they meet internal standards and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements. This role manages and works alongside a Quality Technician to perform inspections, leads the culture of quality and safety across the warehouse, and handles regulatory documentation and incident reporting. The position is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who enjoys working closely with operations in a distribution environment and is interested in growing into an engineering or mid-management role.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quality of industrial hoses and fittings received from vendors to ensure they meet established company standards and specifications.
  • Verify that all incoming products comply with applicable regulatory and chemical compliance requirements, including REACH, RoHS, CMRT, PFAS, Prop 65, TSCA, and USMCA.
  • Complete and maintain regulatory compliance documentation and forms for clients and internal records, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Manage and work directly alongside the Quality Technician to perform inspections, testing, and quality checks on incoming materials and products.
  • Develop, implement, and lead a strong culture of quality and safety across the facility, with a particular focus on warehouse safety practices.
  • Conduct and support safety training activities, reinforcing safe work practices and adherence to OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Participate in or lead safety committees, driving continuous improvement in environmental health and safety (EHS) processes.
  • Prepare smaller safety and quality-related reports, including incident reports and investigations, while coordinating with the parent company on annual safety and OSHA reporting.
  • Lead or support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action plans for quality or safety issues.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to quality assurance, quality control, return material authorizations (RMA), and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure state regulatory requirements and client-specific compliance needs are understood and met.
  • Work closely with warehouse and floor personnel, providing guidance on quality standards, inspection procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Adapt to and respect the existing company culture and processes, seeking to understand current practices before recommending improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality and safety systems and propose practical, well-supported enhancements.
Essential Skills
  • 2-3+ years of hands-on experience in quality control or quality assurance at a technician level.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety practices, including participation on a safety committee.
  • Practical experience with regulatory and chemical compliance, including completing and managing forms for REACH, RoHS, CMRT, PFAS, Prop 65, TSCA, and USMCA.
  • Experience with OSHA-related safety requirements and documentation.
  • Strong background in quality control and quality assurance processes within an industrial or distribution environment.
  • Experience with safety training and environmental health and safety (EHS) activities.
  • Familiarity with quality tools and processes such as RMA, CAPA, and corrective action plans.
  • Ability to complete compliance documentation accurately and manage client-facing regulatory forms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple compliance and quality tasks.
  • Ability to work hands-on on the warehouse floor and collaborate closely with technicians and labor personnel.
  • Demonstrated humility and willingness to adapt to the existing culture, understand current practices, and then suggest improvements.
  • Effective communication skills to influence and lead a culture of quality and safety.
