Reports To: Prepared Foods Manager

Exemption Status: Non‑Exempt

Requirements: We operate 7 days/week, 365 days/year; therefore positions require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed. Must complete and maintain required food and work safety trainings/certifications.

About the role: Prepares food in a high‑volume production environment. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Prepare kitchen for store opening and closing.
  • Prepare food for all Prepared Foods stations and cases, following recipes and specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain attention to labeling, dating, storage, expiration dates, and food quality.
  • Work sauté line, grill, pizza oven, and other cook‑to‑order stations.
  • Stock and maintain Prepared Foods cases and stations.
  • Process customer made‑to‑order items accurately and expeditiously.
  • Check and follow daily prep list; communicate with management to determine production priorities.
  • Assist customers with product selection, packaging, and labeling; share product knowledge; make recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Complete customer special orders thoroughly and provide follow‑through.
  • Stock, rotate, and face products with attention to quality and expiration dates.
  • Handle damaged and spoiled product according to policy.
  • Receive and unload merchandise; check quality, count, and condition; communicate issues to management and merchandising team.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
  • Understand and comply with shift guidelines, tasks, and responsibilities.
  • Stay aware of current ads, promotions, holidays, and events.
  • Demonstrate understanding of culinary terminology, equipment, techniques, units of weight, measurement, and volume; convert for large‑scale production.
  • Notify department manager or Manager On Duty of any situations affecting customer service, safety, productivity, security, or other adverse effects.
  • Tools and equipment used: baler, hand truck, POS, industrial kitchen equipment (blast chiller, robot coupe, blender, slicer, mixer, kitchen smallwares, kettle, pallet jack, knife, range, thermometer, dishwasher, scale, oven, grill, cart, computer, and office equipment), basic housekeeping/ janitorial, and standard office equipment.
  • Work level is medium to heavy; require frequent lifting of 50‑70 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds when using team lifts.
  • Frequently use hands and wrists for grabbing, twisting, and pulling.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
